Rachel represented the family of the pilot Carl Dickerson who died, along with the 3 other men, in a helicopter crash in Norfolk in 2014. The week-long jury Inquest proceeded before the senior Coroner for the area with the aim of establishing how the deceased came by their deaths. The Inquest heard evidence from the AAIB, who had prepared an extensive report in to the crash, as well as RAF and Police helicopter rescue pilots and numerous lay witnesses. Cross examination of the AAIB witnesses was required: therefore detailed understanding of the report and the technicalities of helicopter flight was required to achieve this. The verdict was one of ‘accidental death’.
