Inheritance Act Claims Overview
St John's Chambers - Cross Garnet Rouge

The Wills and Trusts team at St John’s Chambers have a wealth of experience in dealing with claims for reasonable financial provision under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975.

Our members have been involved in a number of significant reported cases including Ames v Jones & Ors, a claim by an adult daughter, and Thompson v Raggetta claim by a cohabitee.

Our barristers enjoy a reputation for handling these inheritance issues with sensitivity and tact, as well as being robust advocates when required.

Members of our Wills & Trusts team are featured in the Chambers UK High Net Worth Guide 2025 as leaders in the private wealth market (outside London). This recognition clearly demonstrates the team are leaders in their field nationally.

Our clerking team are always accessible, and take care and time to understand the case or the individual personalities involved when recommending individual barristers. Read more.
