St John’s Chambers alongside The University of Law are hosting a ‘Becoming a Barrister’ event on Saturday, 26th October 2024 from 9.30am – 2.00pm, at the University of Law’s Bristol campus.
You will hear from Lucy Reed KC, His Honour Judge Stephen Wildblood KC, and Simon Rhodes, CEO of St John’s Chambers alongside a number of barristers to speak about life at the Bar, pupillage, and how to get there. This event is an excellent opportunity for students/graduates (from any education institution) interested in becoming a barrister to gain hands-on insight into the field.
Topics include:
- Subject-based taster sessions on legal practice at the Bar in personal injury/clinical negligence, family, and chancery and commercial law.
- A Q&A with practising barristers on pupillage, skills, and paths to the Bar.
- Advice on qualification via the Bar Practice Course (BPC) from senior ULaw lecturers.
- 1:1 CV reviews with members of St John’s Chambers (first-come, first-served).
- An opportunity to network with legal professionals over lunch.
